Meet Pallavi Dempo, BJP's Historic First Female Candidate in Goa, With Assets Exceeding Rs 1,400 Crore

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Pallavi Dempo filed their nomination for elections to the South Goa seat. She was accompanied by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant during the filing of her nominations recently. The South Goa Lok Sabha seat is currently held by Congress' Francisco Sardinha. Dempo is pitted against Viriato Fernandes of the Congress. Pallavi Dempo is married to Shrinivas Dempo, who heads the Dempo group, a conglomerate involved in various sectors like football, real estate, ship-building, education, and mining. Aged 49, Pallavi, a BJP candidate, holds a postgraduate degree in business management from MIT, Pune University.

Pallavi Dempo is the executive director of Dempo Industries. The 119-page affidavit shows that her net worth along with her husband Shrinivas, is nearly Rs 1,400 crore, reported TOI.

In her official documents, Pallavi discloses owning movable assets worth Rs 255.4 crore, while her husband Shrinivas possesses assets valued at Rs 994.8 crore. Pallavi's immovable assets are valued at Rs 28.2 crore, whereas Shrinivas' total stands at Rs 83.2 crore.

Besides their properties across India, the couple jointly owns a flat in Savanna Dubai valued at Rs 2.5 crore and another in London valued at Rs 10 crore.

Dempo Family Whopping Income Tax Returns

For the fiscal year 2022-23, Pallavi filed income-tax returns amounting to Rs 10 crore, while Shrinivas filed returns worth Rs 11 crore.

Pallavi Dempo is the first woman to be fielded by the saffron party from the coastal state of Goa in a Lok Sabha election.
