JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Finnish mining company Keliber’s drilling programme has resulted in a 17% increase, or 1.41-million tonnes, in its measured and indicated mineral resources to nearly 9.5-million tonnes.

The most significant increase in the indicated mineral resources, almost one-million tonnes, is in the Rapasaari lithium deposit.

Including the inferred mineral resources, the total mineral resources of the company are 10-million tonnes.

Keliber has said that its drilling programme will continue in the second half of this year, focusing on the Rapasaari, Syväjärvi and Leviäkangas deposits. In Rapasaari, the drilling will be concentrated in the northern and southern part of the currently known deposit. In Syväjärvi and Leviäkangas, mainly the northern parts of the known ore veins will be drilled.

The Rapasaari, Syväjärvi, Leviäkangas and Outovesi deposits are located in the municipalities of Kaustinen and Kokkola and the Emmes deposit in the municipality of Kruunupyy. All the deposits are about 15 km to 25 km from the company's planned Kalavesi mineral processing plant.
