According to a report of the Directorate General of Migration (DGM) a team of inspectors and agents of the institution, with the support of the army and police, as well as representatives of the public prosecutor's office was deployed in the province of Azua following denunciations of the community on the presence of Haitian in an irregular situation.

During several migration control operations in the communities of Estebanía, Kilometer 11 and 15, Las Charcas, Los Negros, Project 2 C, Livestock Project and Sabana Yegua, 170 Haitians were arrested, 4 of which were the subject of an investigation for assault and illegal possession of weapons.

After the verification process, 112 Haitian nationals (79 men and 33 women) in an illegal migration situation were transferred to the Elías Piña border post for treatment and deportation to Haiti
