Of all of the Oregon Ducks football program's needs in the class of 2018, the wide receiver position has been the biggest rollercoaster ride.
Prior to the beginning of Willie Taggart-to-Florida State rumors, Oregon had five four-star wide receiver in the fold and were among the nation's top programs in terms of their incoming haul of pass-catchers.
But in the weeks after Taggart's departure, the Ducks saw all five of those athletes decommit from the program, re-establishing wide receiver as the biggest area of need in the lead up to Signing Day.
This weekend, Oregon took a step in the right direction, making the top five for Under Armour All-American Game selection and 247Sports four-star athlete Joshua Moore.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound athlete, out of Yoakum, Texas, has Florida State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee and Texas in his final five:
While Oregon is not considered the favorite to land Moore's services, the Ducks will have a significant chance to persuade him late, as he is expected to take an official visit to Eugene in early February - just days before Signing Day (February 7).
Adding to Oregon's chances has been the peer recruitment of Oregon freshman quarterback Tyler Shough, a 2018 four-star prospect who signed and enrolled early in order to compete for a higher spot on the depth chart.
Moore is far from a slam dunk to end up in Eugene, but he's going to be one to watch on Signing Day.
