In a bid to support the Government’s initiative towards the COP23 meeting in November, Fiji’s National Sanatan Youth group will hold a clean-up campaign around Fiji on October 10.

Marking Fiji Day, the National Sanatan Youth President and Vice President of Sabha Fiji, Rovil Singh said that as concerned citizens of Fiji they would do the right thing at the right time.

“Keep Fiji Beautiful is our independent charity which campaigns, acts and educates on local, national and global environmental issues which affect people’s quality of life,” Mr Singh said.

“We are Fiji Sanatan Youth Wing leading, campaigning and training others to clean up local environments and to change the behaviour which blights our urban and rural landscape.”

He said it was part of their initiative to make Fiji clean and green, today and tomorrow.

He said Clean Up Fiji is the mass engagement campaign building community pride and aiming to make Fiji the cleanest country in the Pacific.

“We are assembling a national coalition of support challenging individuals and organisations to take responsibility for the quality of their environment,” Mr Singh said.

“We are leading community activities and tackling the carelessness and illegal behaviour of those individuals who damage our quality of life and tarnish the country’s image.”
