PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed junior Black Mountain Resources has reported a maiden inferred mineral resource of 61.9-million tonnes at its Namakera vermiculite mine, in Uganda.

Grading at 18.2% vermiculite, the project is estimated to host some 11.3-million tonnes of contained vermiculite.

Black Mountain reported on Monday that it had started a 65 hole, 2 250 m drill programme, which would be completed over the next two months. The programme was aimed at  upgrading the current resource and providing the basis for a new mine plan at the Namakera mine in 2017.

Diamond drilling of six holes would be completed. Twin historic reverse circulation and diamond drill holes were planned to verify data relating to vermiculite flake size, bulk density and vermiculite grade.

Black Mountain completed the acquisition of the Namekara mine in November.
